What is the difference between HF, VHF and UHF antennas?

The main difference between these antenna categories is in the frequency and wavelength:

HF antennas (0.3 MHz to 3 MHz):

• Can get through obstacles well
  
• Often used for long distance communication

VHF antennas (3 MHz to 30 MHz):

• Have a medium wavelength
  
• Are suitable for communication over medium distances
  
• Are widely used in radio and television technology

UHF antennas (30 MHz to 300 MHz):

• Have a short wavelength
• Provide good coverage in urban areas
• Used for mobile communications and satellite technology
