Drinking your favorite coffee in your truck, car, camper or on your boat?

These adapted coffee machines were initially designed for truck drivers who are often on the road. But they have also become popular.

This is especially true for campers and motorists who travel frequently. The only difference is the voltage of the various vehicles. Therefore, below is an overview of the different vehicles for clarification:

Inverters

A battery typically supplies 12 or 24 volts of direct current (DC), which isn't directly compatible with household appliances designed for 230 volts of alternating current (AC). Furthermore, the DC power from the battery differs from the AC voltage used by your home network. An inverter converts the 12 or 24 volts of DC from the battery to 230 volts of AC, allowing you to use your appliances safely .

What power should the inverter have?

When choosing an inverter for your vehicle or vessel, it's essential to consider the total wattage your 230-volt appliances consume. Ask yourself: which appliances need to be powered, and how long will I use them simultaneously each day? It's wise to choose an inverter with a slightly higher wattage than necessary when using additional appliances. If the total wattage of the connected appliances exceeds the inverter's peak power, you risk permanently damaging the inverter.

Modified sine wave inverter or pure sine wave inverter?

A pure sine wave inverter produces a smooth sine wave and delivers power identical to that of your home's electrical outlet. A modified sine wave inverter approximates this pure sine wave and is often a more cost-effective alternative. Generally, most appliances, such as standard coffee makers, microwaves, kettles, and televisions, will work flawlessly with a modified sine wave inverter, provided the power is sufficient. However, not all appliances perform optimally with a modified sine wave inverter. For certain sensitive appliances and electronics, a pure sine wave inverter is essential.

Coffee machine in a truck

For truck drivers, we have several coffee machines that have been modified to a lower voltage so that they can be used in the cab in combination with a relatively smaller modified sine wave inverter.

Coffee machine in a car or camper

Want a coffee maker in your campervan or car so you can brew your favorite coffee on the way to your vacation destination or while driving the Barrel Challenge or Carbage Run ? You'll usually need a 12V/230V converter. One exception : some campervans also have 24V on-board power, so always check this carefully before purchasing a converter.

Coffee machines on a boat

You can also use one of our adapted Nespresso machines or Senseo coffee makers on your boat. First, check your boat's onboard voltage. If your boat has 12 volts, you'll need a 12V/230V converter; if your boat has 24 volts, you'll need a 24V/230V converter to use one of these coffee makers.

Our advice when using a coffee machine on the go

We recommend that you let the truck idle while turning on and heating the coffee machine when using these sets, as they draw a fair amount of power from your truck's battery.

Coffee machines at Deltron

The coffee maker models listed below only work with an inverter! Depending on the voltage on board your vehicle or vessel, you'll need a 12V-230V or 24V-230V modified sine wave inverter. Depending on the coffee maker model, the wattage should be at least 1000 watts to 1500 watts. The inverters must also be equipped with at least one electrical outlet.
