This adapter cable is equipped with a 4-pin Male and 6-pin Female connectors. This allows you to use a 4-pin microphone on a 27MC transceiver with a 6-pin connector.

In the US, most microphones are dynamic and have 4-pin connectors. In Europe, brands like President and (some) Midland use a 6-pin connector. President also now uses electronic microphones on all models
When using a dynamic microphone on a radio that is designed to use an electret microphone, the modulation level will be lower than the original microphone. However, if it is a power microphone (amplified), there will be no problem. The cable also makes it easier for retailers to test and demonstrate different models of microphones without having to solder a connector onto a microphone for demonstration purposes only.
