The AOR MC-600 is a passive impedance matching transformer that provides the interface between the 600 Ohm antenna connection of many old and/or antique receivers and an antenna with a 50 Ohm coaxial cable. This transformer can also be used to match a high impedance wire antenna to a 50 Ohm receiver input. The MC-600 is ideal for use in conjunction with the AOR LA-380 or LA-390 small indoor loop antennas , especially in antique receivers that often do not have a 50 Ohm coaxial antenna input.

Features of the AOR MC-600

  • Impedance matching : Ensures a perfect connection between the 600 Ohm input of antique receivers and the 50 Ohm coaxial cable of modern antennas.
  • Frequency range : From 10 kHz to 30 MHz, suitable for a wide range of receivers and applications.
  • Impedance: 50 Ohm / 600 Ohm, which ensures optimal signal transfer without loss of quality.
  • Insertion Loss : Less than 3 dB, resulting in minimal signal loss during transmission.
  • Connections : Equipped with BNC female connector and bare wire terminals, so it can be easily connected to various receivers and antennas.
  • Temperature Range: Operates reliably within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
  • No Power Required: The MC-600 is a passive device, so no external power supply is required for operation.
  • Compact size : The dimensions are 34 x 24 x 50 mm, making it easy to integrate into various systems.
  • Weight: Only 42 grams, lightweight and easy to handle.

Important Notes

  • Receiver Specific: The AOR MC-600 is designed for use with receivers and is not intended for transmitters.
  • Specifications subject to change: Specifications are subject to change without notice.

Impedance Matching and Application

Impedance matching is a design technique in which the input impedance (ZS) of an electrical load is made equal to the output impedance (ZL) of the signal source to which it is ultimately connected. This process is usually performed to maximize energy transfer and minimize reflections. Impedance matching is applicable in various fields, not only for electrical energy but also for other forms of energy transfer between source and load.

Ideal for antique and old receivers

The AOR MC-600 is perfect for connecting vintage receivers that often do not have a coaxial 50 Ohm connection to modern antennas, such as the AOR LA-380 or LA-390. With this transformer you can use the full performance of your older receiver without compromising signal quality.
