The ARC-230 scanner software from Butel is compatible with Windows 98 / ME / 2000 / XP / Vista / 7. With this software you can program the Uniden USC-230 and USC-230-E as you wish.
Important information for Windows 10 users:
- Please note when using ARC-XT, ARC230 or ARC3500 software in combination with the Uniden USB-1 programming cable:
- If you had no issues with the ARC software before installing Windows 10, you may be using an older version of the USB-1 cable.
- The chipset in the first generation of USB-1 programming cables was changed in 2014. Cables with the new chipset work without problems with Windows 10.
- You cannot see the difference between the old and new version of the USB-1 cable from the outside.
Important: Decimal separator
The decimal separator in your computer settings must be set to a period ('.') and not a comma (','). The scanner only works with the period ('.') as a decimal symbol. An incorrect setting can lead to rounding errors.
Automatic updates and internet connection
When your computer is connected to the Internet, you will automatically receive a notification when a software update is available. Downloading updates is completely free.
How do you check for updates?
In the menu, go to: Help > Check for Updates.
By default, the automatic update function is enabled. When you are connected to the internet, you will receive updates immediately when a new version is available.
