Some transceivers that support both HF and VHF, such as the Icom IC-746 and IC-7400, have separate PTT lines for HF (HSEND) and VHF (VSEND).
The CGA SB2000MK2 by default only controls the HSEND line. Without modification, the interface can therefore only be used for transmitting on HF with these transceivers.
If you want to use the CGA SB2000MK2 for VHF/UHF as well, an adjustment to the transceiver or interface connector is necessary. Here, HSEND and VSEND must be controlled simultaneously by connecting both terminals together.
With transceivers such as the Icom IC-706Mk2G and IC-7000, this works differently. With these models, a setting can be adjusted via the menu so that HSEND also activates transmission on VHF and UHF.
Therefore, always check the settings and connection options of your specific transceiver before use.
