The Diamond WD330-S is a high-performance HF dipole antenna with a proven T2FD (Terminated Folded Dipole) design . This design, originally developed by the U.S. Navy, is known for its very stable tuning and nearly constant radiation characteristics over a wide frequency range. This makes this dipole antenna ideal for radio amateurs, shortwave listeners, and professional applications.
With a frequency range of 2 to 30 MHz , the WD330S performs excellently on multiple HF bands without retuning. Horizontally mounted, the antenna behaves like a classic dipole with a clear directional pattern. In an inverted-V or sloper configuration (20–40°), a nearly omnidirectional pattern is created, ideal when flexibility in installation is required.
The antenna features a 390-ohm (50W) non-inductive termination resistor in the upper conductor, which absorbs approximately one-third of the transmit power. This ensures a very wide bandwidth and stable impedance. A 1:6 balun adjusts the impedance from approximately 300 ohms to 50 ohms for connection to coaxial cable. The two conductors are neatly spaced by short spreaders, contributing to consistent performance.
