The Komunica HF-PRO-2 is an innovative, portable multi-band antenna designed for radio amateurs. With a frequency range of 7-30 MHz and 50 MHz, this antenna offers excellent performance for static mobile or portable applications. Thanks to its compact and lightweight design, the HF-PRO-2® is ideal for use on location.
Key Features:
- Adjustable frequency: The operating frequency is easily set by sliding the loading coil up or down. For optimum tuning an antenna tuner can be used.
- Rugged and Flexible: Manufactured from Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP), which allows for a lightweight, compact and flexible design.
- Easy to carry: The antenna is easy to disassemble and store, ideal for SOTA, QRP or field operations.
Usage tips for the HF-PRO-2®:
- Mounting: Install the antenna on an SO-239 connection with a good ground plane, for example a magnetic base on the roof of a vehicle or a metal railing on a balcony.
- Settings for 50 MHz: Attach the short top element (PWR01003) and slide the coil to the lowest position for use on the 6 meter band.
- Tuning : Use an antenna tuner for fine tuning and the lowest possible SWR value.
- Safety: Do not touch the antenna during transmission to avoid electric shock or RF burns.
Recommended accessories:
- Tripod Kit: Compact and lightweight telescopic tripod for optimum stability.
- Triple Mag: Reinforced magnetic base for secure hold.
- Komunica BM-1 PL: Magnetic base with UHF-Female (PL-259) connection, ø 120 mm, including 5 meter RG58 cable.
- Komunica HF MAG: Magnetic plate for additional grounding (use two plates for the 80 meter band).
Important notes:
- The HF-PRO-2® is not designed for use on moving vehicles.
- Do not use the antenna if it is damaged and avoid permanent use in harsh weather conditions.
- Check the effectiveness of the mounting with an antenna analyzer or SWR meter.
Mounting options:
- Vehicles : Magnetic base in the center of the roof or a trunk/hood=edge mounting.
- Balconies: Use an L-shaped bracket for mounting on metal railing.
- Grounding: Provide an effective ground plane by using a coaxial connection with at least 10 meters of cable as a counterweight.
