Midland XT50 PMR446 walkie-talkie twin set – 24 channels

The Midland XT50 walkie-talkie twin set is a practical solution when you want to communicate with each other easily and without a subscription. These compact PMR446 walkie-talkies combine easy operation with convenient features such as VOX, channel scan, CTCSS tones and a backlit LCD display. Because the XT50 uses PMR446 frequencies, you can use the walkie-talkies license-free.

The set consists of two Midland XT50 walkie-talkies and is supplied complete with rechargeable battery packs, belt clips, a dual desktop charger and USB cable. This means you immediately have a complete set for communication between two people.

Whether you use the walkie-talkies while hiking, camping and other outdoor activities or for communication during work: the Midland XT50 is designed for users who are primarily looking for reliability and ease of use.

Up to 24 channels and 38 CTCSS tones

The Midland XT50 features 24 channels, consisting of 8 standard channels and 16 pre-programmed channels. In addition, 38 CTCSS tones are available. This allows you to set user groups, so you are less bothered by conversations from other PMR446 users on the same channel.

CTCSS does not make communication private or encrypted. Other users listening to the same frequency can still receive the transmission. The function mainly ensures that your own walkie-talkie only makes signals with the set CTCSS code audible.

With a transmission power of 500 mW ERP, the XT50 meets the specified requirements for this PMR446 walkie-talkie.

What is the range of the Midland XT50?

Under optimal conditions, a range of up to approximately 8 kilometers is specified for the Midland XT50. In practice, the actual range is strongly influenced by the environment. Buildings, vegetation, height differences and other obstacles can significantly reduce the range.

In urban areas, the range can therefore be limited to a few streets. In rural areas, according to the provided information, approximately 500 meters can be achieved, while in completely open terrain or over water, distances of several kilometers are possible.

Therefore, consider the maximum distance mainly as a theoretical value under very favorable conditions and not as a guaranteed practical range.

Convenient features for everyday use

The Midland XT50 walkie-talkie features VOX with three adjustable sensitivity levels. This allows the walkie-talkie to automatically start transmitting when speech is detected. In addition, a CALL function and scan function are available.

The Side Tone function helps suppress the sound at the end of a transmission. Via the alphanumeric LCD display, you can read the selected settings.

The specified operating time is up to 12 hours, depending on use. Charging is done via the micro-USB connection. With suitable USB power adapters, you can therefore use various charging options.

What do you use the Midland XT50 for?

Due to the compact size and weight of just 93 grams without batteries, the XT50 is easy to carry. The set is, for example, suitable for hiking, camping, sports and recreational activities and other situations in which two people want to communicate with each other from a distance.

The XT50 can also be practical for certain professional applications, for example when colleagues need to easily stay in contact with each other within a location or work area.

Thanks to the 2-pin MIC/SPK accessory connection, the walkie-talkie can also be combined with various suitable Midland headsets, microphones and speaker-microphones.
