Do you want a VHF antenna that you can easily install and remove without having to re-install the cabling every time? The Shakespeare QC-4 QuickConnect VHF antenna combines good VHF performance with Shakespeare's practical QuickConnect system. With a simple screw motion, you can connect or disconnect the antenna from a suitable QuickConnect mount.
The QC-4 has a length of 1.21 meters, a gain of 3 dB, and a frequency range of 156 to 162 MHz. This Shakespeare antenna is designed for maritime VHF applications.
What is the Shakespeare QuickConnect system?
The QuickConnect system allows the antenna to be quickly removed from the antenna mount. You simply unscrew the antenna from the mount, without having to re-engage with the antenna cable. This is handy when you want to temporarily remove the antenna, for example, for transport, maintenance, or storage.
Shakespeare has paid attention to a high-quality connection between the antenna and the mount in the system. This prevents vibrations from causing unwanted noise. When the antenna is removed, the connector on the mount can be protected against splash water and dirt with the accompanying protective cap.
Practical system for onboard mounting
The QC-4 is used in combination with an optional Shakespeare QuickConnect mount. A suitable nylon ratchet mount offers a quadruple adjustment mechanism and a quick-release lever, allowing the antenna to be easily folded down. This makes the system suitable for deck or side mounting.
Another advantage of the standard mounting design is the ability to later switch to a high-quality compatible Shakespeare antenna, without necessarily requiring a completely new mounting solution.
For easy installation, the QuickConnect system uses a Centerpin® PL-259 connector. This connector is designed for solder-free mounting.

The Shakespeare QC-4 QuickConnect antenna can only be used with a suitable QuickConnect® mount. The antenna is therefore not mounted directly on a standard antenna mount.
