The Sirio SO 5G 2-8DBI N-F i is a professional wideband dipole antenna for a wide range of mobile communication and data applications. This Sirio cellular antenna covers three wide frequency bands of 650–960 MHz, 1.7–2.7 GHz and 3.3–4.2 GHz. This means a single antenna can be used for various systems, including GSM, 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, 5G and 2.4 GHz WiFi.
The SO 5G belongs to the new generation of Sirio SO series antennas and is designed for fixed outdoor installations where a wide frequency range, robust construction and omnidirectional coverage are important. Thanks to its vertical polarization and 360° omnidirectional radiation, the antenna does not need to be specifically aimed at a single base station.
With a length of just around 32 cm, the antenna is also compact for the wide frequency range it supports.
One antenna for multiple mobile frequency bands
A major advantage of the Sirio SO 5G is its wide frequency range. The antenna operates from 650 to 960 MHz, from 1.7 to 2.7 GHz and from 3.3 to 4.2 GHz. This means it supports, among others, GSM-R, GSM-900, GSM-1800, 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 3G UMTS, 4G LTE, 5G, 2.4 GHz WiFi, WiMAX and DECT.
This makes this Sirio cellular antenna interesting for installations that use different mobile communication standards or frequency bands. The gain depends on the frequencies used, approximately 2.1 dBi at 650–960 MHz, 4 to 6 dBi at 1.7–2.7 GHz and 6 to 8 dBi at 3.3–4.2 GHz.
Omnidirectional wideband dipole antenna
The SO 5G is a wideband dipole with linear vertical polarization. The radiation pattern is 360 degrees omnidirectional. This makes the antenna suitable for applications where signals need to be received or transmitted from different horizontal directions.
According to Sirio, the SO 5G series has also been designed with a focus on stable radiation characteristics across the wide frequency range. The manufacturer states that the direction of maximum gain remains close to 0° when the frequency changes. This simplifies positioning in multiband applications.
The main features:
- Wideband cellular dipole antenna for 650–960 MHz, 1.7–2.7 GHz and 3.3–4.2 GHz
- Supports, among others, GSM, 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, 5G, 2.4 GHz WiFi, WiMAX and DECT
- Gain from approximately 2.1 dBi up to 8 dBi, depending on the frequency
- 360° omnidirectional radiation pattern with vertical polarization
- IP67 protection and robust construction for fixed outdoor installations
What do you use the Sirio SO 5G antenna for?
Due to its wide frequency range, the Sirio SO 5G cellular antenna is suitable for various professional communication and data applications. Think, for example, of fixed installations for mobile networks, telemetry, communication equipment, routers, modems and other compatible RF equipment operating within the supported frequency bands.
The antenna has an impedance of 50 Ohm and is equipped with an N-female connector. A connection cable is not included with this standard version, so the required cable and connector combination can be tailored to the specific installation. The maximum specified transmit power is 10 watts between 650 and 960 MHz and 5 watts between 1.7 and 4.2 GHz.
Robust construction with IP67 protection
For an antenna that is permanently mounted outdoors, protection against the elements is important. The Sirio SO 5G has an IP67 rating and is constructed from, among other materials, fiberglass, anodized aluminum and UV-stabilized plastic.
The standard SO 5G 2-8DBI N-F is approximately 320 mm high, has a diameter of approximately 32 mm and weighs about 380 grams. The antenna is mounted on a mast using the included SA303 bracket. According to the Sirio brochure, the mounting is suitable for masts with a diameter of 35 to 60 mm.
Also available with Sirio FT-7 bracket
In addition to the standard version, the antenna is available as 2118020.00/FT7, where the SO 5G is combined with the Sirio FT-7 mounting bracket.
The FT-7 was developed for both mast and wall mounting. The bracket supports horizontal and vertical mast mounting for mast diameters of 36 to 60 mm. According to Sirio, the construction has been tested to a maximum load of 50 kg. An integrated cutout also makes it possible to route the antenna cable protected by the bracket. The version with the FT-7 bracket has a total height of approximately 370 mm and a weight of about 680 grams.
Are you looking for a compact Sirio cellular antenna that allows you to cover multiple mobile frequency bands with a single antenna? Then the Sirio SO 5G 2-8DBI N-F offers wide frequency coverage, an omnidirectional radiation pattern and a robust IP67 construction. Order the Sirio SO 5G from Deltron.nl and choose a professional wideband antenna from the Sirio SO series.
