The SSB Aircell 5 is a flexible, five-millimeter-thick coaxial cable suitable for frequencies up to 10 GHz. Thanks to its low attenuation relative to its diameter and the use of standard RG-58 coaxial connectors, this cable is the first choice for wireless LAN applications and various telecommunications applications.
The Aircell 5 has relatively low attenuation thanks to the low-loss PE-LLC dielectric with a gas content of over 70%. The material is also moisture-resistant. The solid inner conductor of oxygen-depleted copper (OFC) ensures good conductivity. To simultaneously achieve good shield attenuation with low losses, the outer conductor of the Aircell 5 has two layers of copper: a shielding braid with 70% coverage and a thin, overlapping copper foil. The foil is PE-coated on the inside and protected against cracking due to bending radii that are too small. The black PVC outer sheath of the Aircell 5 is UV-stabilized.
With an outer diameter of 5 mm, the Aircell 5 is compatible with almost all common coaxial connectors for 5 mm coaxial cables. It is a modern coaxial cable suitable for various communication technology applications: relatively flexible, with low attenuation, and resistant to interference.
