The Ecoflex 5 FRNC is a thin, extremely flexible coaxial cable designed for frequencies up to 6 GHz . Thanks to the low loss compared to the outer diameter of 5.5 mm and the very small bending radius, this cable is ideal for various RF applications.
The low attenuation values of the Ecoflex 5 FRNC are achieved through advanced manufacturing techniques and the use of a low loss PE-LLC dielectric with a foam content of over 70%. This unique dielectric also provides water resistance and long-term stability. The inner conductor consists of 19 strands of oxygen-deficient copper (OFC), which contributes to the cable's remarkable flexibility.
The Ecoflex 5 FRNC has a double shielding, consisting of overlapping copper foil and an additional shielding of copper wires with 80% coverage. The copper foil is provided with a PE coating to prevent cracking in short radius bends. The sheath is made of a special thermoplastic copolymer (FRNC), which is flame retardant and halogen-free. This ensures low fire load, limited flame spread and minimal smoke emission, making the cable safer in the event of fire.
