The SSB GC-10 is a grounding clamp developed for potential equalisation on coaxial cables with a diameter of 10 mm such as those of the SSB Aircom Premium, Ecoflex 10, Ecoflex 10 Plus etc. This grounding clamp from SSB is IP68 certified, which means that it is weather and water resistant.
Why use a ground clamp on your coaxial cable?
If you use a grounding clamp, potential differences (voltages) between the coaxial cable and the ground potential are eliminated. During thunderstorms, voltage charges can occur on the antenna or coaxial cable, these voltage charges are discharged by means of a grounding clamp, so that the device connected to the antenna is protected.
NOTE: A ground clamp is not a substitute for lightning protection.
