Reverse Polarity
This connector is a reverse polarity connector. It's a variation on a standard polarized connector where the gender is reversed. The term "reverse polarity" doesn't refer to the signal polarity of the connector itself, but to the gender of the center contact pin.
This reverse polarity connector has the same housing (body) as a standard connector (jack or plug thread), but the center pin has been modified to be reversed. A reverse polarity connector therefore has a male pin instead of the standard female pin/socket, and a reverse polarity plug has a female center terminal instead of a male pin.
