The Yaesu ATAS-120A is an advanced mobile antenna , specifically designed for Yaesu transceivers equipped with the patented ATAS (Active Tuning Antenna System) . Supported models include the Yaesu FT-857, Yaesu FT-897, Yaesu FT-847 and the Yaesu FT-100. Thanks to the built-in motorized tuning, the antenna automatically adjusts for optimum SWR values – without the hassle of mono band whip antennas.
The ATAS-120A automatically tunes to multiple bands and provides powerful and efficient operation on HF, VHF and UHF . It is designed to be mounted directly to a standard UHF (PL) antenna base (not included) . A magnetic base is not recommended for this application. For some transceivers, the use of a duplexer or triplexer may be useful so that you do not have to manually change the coax each time.
