Materials used
Grazioli uses the best available alloy for antenna construction for the tubes: AW6063-T66. This is an alloy of aluminum, magnesium, and silicon, hardened to T-66, making the material exceptionally strong and wear-resistant. The tubes are formed by extrusion and then cold drawn. This makes the tubes extremely precise in both outer diameter and wall thickness, ensuring a perfect fit with minimal clearance between the tube sections.
The "base" consists of four robust quarter-wave radials, each 1.4 meters long. Each radial is constructed from a single piece of tubing with a diameter of 13 mm and a wall thickness of 1.25 mm. They are securely attached to the support plate with two U-bolts and self-locking nuts. Four fiberglass reinforcements are included to strengthen the connections and prevent the tubes from denting.
