Includes smart signal repeater for better indoor coverage

A unique addition to the HanRongDa HRD-802 is the included W3 signal repeater. This smart adapter is specially designed to dramatically improve reception of weak radio signals indoors. Whether you're dealing with disruptive building structures, thick walls, or electrical appliances, the W3 effortlessly brings your outdoor signal indoors.

The repeater receives outdoor signals via its 3-meter receiving antenna and transmits them wirelessly to the HRD-802 radio. This allows you to enjoy interference-free reception of SW, MW, or aviation bands, even in areas with limited coverage.

Thanks to its clever design, the repeater works up to a distance of approximately 35 meters from the radio (without obstacles). Is there a wall in between? Stable operation is possible up to 10 meters. Perfect for use in homes, apartments, or offices.

The repeater runs on 18650 lithium batteries or 3x AA batteries (1.5V) , and is easily charged via the USB-C connection (DC 5V).

HanRongDa W3 Signal Repeater Installation Instructions

This signal repeater is included as standard with the HanRongDa HRD-802 multi-band world receiver and emergency radio. Follow the steps below for optimal reception and use.

Placement of the repeater

• It is best to place the repeater near a window so that the outside signal is received better.
• Use the included punch-free hook to easily hang the repeater on the window – without drilling or screwing.
• You can also place the repeater on a balcony or windowsill indoors, as long as the location guarantees a good signal.

Connecting the antennas

Receive antenna with a length of 3 meters. Attach it to curtains with the included clips, or lay the antenna fully extended.

Note: Always retract the antenna after use to prevent damage.

Transmitting antenna: Attach the antenna by turning it clockwise. Remove it by turning it counterclockwise.

Using the supplied repeater:

Enable:

1. Connect both the receiving and transmitting antennas.
2. Press the power button briefly to turn on the repeater.
3. To turn the device off again, press and hold the button.

Auto power off:

1. After switching off the HRD-802 radio, the repeater will automatically switch off after 1 minute.
2. Setting Mode (Automatic Wake-Up Mode):
3. Press the MODE button briefly to turn on the repeater.
4. Long press the MODE button to activate auto wake-up mode.
5. In this power saving mode, the repeater switches on temporarily when a signal from the radio is detected.
6. Each activation lasts 60 seconds. The more often the radio is inactive, the less often the repeater will activate to save battery power.
7. To turn off the mode, press and hold the MODE button again. The red MODE indicator will then turn off.

Charging via USB-C

• Use a DC 5V USB-C connection to charge the repeater.
• Please note: During charging, radio reception may be temporarily reduced.
• Ideally, do not use the repeater again until it is fully charged.
• Alternative: temporarily disconnect the repeater from the radio while charging.
