A good ground is crucial when using an antenna below 50 MHz. The Komunica HF magnetic ground plane offers the perfect solution for situations where a reliable ground is difficult to achieve, such as antennas with a magnetic base or on balconies. This ground plane is easy to use by placing the mat on a flat metal surface and attaching the wire with the ring to the base of the antenna.
For optimal performance when operating at a frequency of 3.5 MHz (80m), we recommend using two Komunica HF ground plates. When using 50 MHz, it is important to keep the connection cable as short as possible, with a preference for a maximum length of 20 cm.
Installation instructions:
- Prepare surface: make the surface dust and dirt-free
- Placement: choose a surface that is as flat as possible. A slightly curved surface is also suitable.
- Connection: insert the ring of the cable between the connectors of the base and the antenna.
- Optimization: For the 50MHz band, you can get a better SWR with a cable length of less than 20cm. Make sure the terminals are properly sealed with heat shrink tubing when shortening the cable.
Comments:
- Use two sets of HF-MAG for frequencies of 3.5 MHz (80 m).
- Do not drive faster than 70 mph (110 km/h) with the ground plane attached to your vehicle.
- Remove the ground plane before driving.
