Important warnings & notes

⚠ Only connect LDG and mAT tuners when the transceiver is de-energized.

⚠ Use PTT IN and PTT OUT to prevent a linear amplifier from amplifying low-power signals during tuning. This prevents potential damage.

⚠ The remote function via RS232 is only available in GENERAL mode.

⚠ When using the mAT-CY cable, compatibility with current YAESU transceivers is guaranteed. Future models cannot be guaranteed.

Operating modes of the mAT-1500 Pro 2 antenna tuner

General mode

In GENERAL mode, the mAT Pro 2 automatic antenna tuner is compatible with virtually all transceivers. When the tuner is connected solely to a 12–14 V DC power supply (without an adapter cable), it automatically switches to this mode.

In this mode, you operate the tuner manually via the front panel. You initiate the tuning cycle yourself and switch between ONLINE (active tuning) and BYPASS (direct RF passthrough).

This mode is ideal for universal applications and for situations where you want maximum control, for example when using linear amplifiers or for remote control via the RS232 interface.

YAESU mode

When the tuner is connected to a YAESU transceiver using the optional mAT-CY adapter cable, the transceiver automatically takes over control and power supply of the tuner.

Communication is entirely wired, seamlessly integrating controls into your YAESU system. The mAT Pro 2 is fully compatible with original YAESU tuners such as the FC-30, FC-40, and FC-50.

This provides a user experience equivalent to an original factory solution — professional, stable and reliable.

ICOM mode (also suitable for Kenwood)

When you connect the tuner to an ICOM or Kenwood transceiver using the optional mAT-CI (ICOM) or mAT-CK (Kenwood) adapter cable, the tuner will also be controlled and powered directly by the transceiver.

Most modern ICOM and Kenwood transceivers work directly with this antenna tuner, without any additional settings or complex configuration.
