The AOR VI-8200 is an optional plug-in slot card (voice inverter card) for the AR-8200 and AOR AR-8600 series, which provides voice inversion decoding. This card makes it possible to restore intelligible audio from certain types of analog voice transmissions that would otherwise sound unintelligible. The system works by splitting the audio frequency spectrum and inverting the higher and lower tones around a specific frequency. The VI-8200 provides the ability to select from 157 different switch point frequencies within the range of 2.4 kHz to 5.6 kHz. The accompanying table shows the relationship between the value and the corresponding switch frequency.
This plugin provides an easy way to decode and enhance difficult-to-understand communications, making it ideal for use in environments where voice inversion is employed.
