The WiNRADiO ERD-1500 electromagnetic radiation detector is a highly efficient "RF Sniffer" specifically designed to quickly and reliably locate sources of electromagnetic interference. This detector is equipped with a miniature wideband antenna, a quality amplifier, and high performance Schottky barrier diodes for maximum sensitivity.
Key Features:
- Indication: Optical (LED) and acoustic (piezo speaker) signals
- Signal Strength: The brightness of the LED and the pitch of the sound signal increase proportionally to the strength of the detected signal, making it easy to locate the source of interference.
- Frequency range: Approximately 50 Hz to 1500 MHz
- Sensitivity: Typically 25µV/cm (500 MHz, far field setting)
- Control switch: Three positions: off (center position), high sensitivity (far field) and low sensitivity (near field)
Applications:
- Detecting sources of electromagnetic interference (EMI)
- Surveillance countermeasures (detecting eavesdropping devices)
- Preliminary EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing
- Quick safety check of transmitters and devices
- Installation and setup of computer based radio surveillance system
The WiNRADiO ERD-1500 is ideal for detecting electromagnetic interference, such as that caused by light dimmers that use solid-state circuitry. Faulty dimmers can generate broadband interference and significantly disrupt radio and TV reception.
In addition, the sale of listening devices is becoming increasingly popular and it is essential to regularly check your environment for hidden bugs. The WiNRADiO ERD-1500, with its wide frequency range, high sensitivity and fast response time, is ideally suited for detecting various listening devices that can be hidden in everyday objects.
Use the WiNRADiO ERD-1500 to secure and protect your environment from unwanted electromagnetic interference and surveillance equipment.
Detecting listening devices and sources of interference
One of the typical applications of the ERD-1500 is to locate sources of electromagnetic interference. Light dimmers are known sources of interference due to their use of solid-state circuitry. Some brands cause more problems than others. A faulty dimmer, such as the one pictured here, can turn into a broadband source of interference that can cause significant degradation of radio and TV reception.
Wiretapping equipment
The sale of eavesdropping devices is increasing dramatically and there is overwhelming evidence of their widespread use. You can only be sure after you have monitored your premises with an ERD-1500. Surveillance countermeasures is another important application of this device.
In the situation shown, a radio surveillance device is hidden in a house intercom. Miniature transmitters can be hidden in many everyday objects. Due to its wide frequency range, sensitivity and fast response time, the ERD-1500 can be successfully used to detect most types of listening devices.
